The 'LiL Bastard got its name in a very organic way. We knew that Mitch was working on knives for the Blade show and had an idea to create a small user pocketknife for those who want to open boxes but didn't want to use their Gunstock or 'LiL Gunny. He didn't release any details or make any announcements. We didn't even know what Mitch was conjuring up for Blade Show this year.

So a couple days before Blade Show we get a package in with "TOP SECRET! Do NOT open until Blade Show!" on the outside.

We waited in excitement just like everyone else until the day before the show to do the opening. As we are opening the box and checking out the little fixed blades, I ask Mitch, "What is the name of this model?" and he says, "I don't know. It doesn't have a name." then someone said, "Dang Mitch...that's messed up. You didn't even give it a name? It's like a bastard knife child!"

And that, my friends, is how the 'LiL Bastard got its name.
