BIO
Born in South Africa, Jason Guthrie grew up fishing, hunting and spending time in the “Bush”, always with a knife by his side.
At age 16, Jason started learning to use machines with his dad at the family business, a shooting range and gun shop. Jason quickly learned a lot about the mechanics and engineering of firearms while also becoming a serious collector of knives.
In 2014, he applied his knowledge and passion into making knives as a hobby. He designed his first model, The Ranger, as a useful and practical carry knife. The Ranger became a huge success for him, at which time, he dedicated his full-time efforts to knifemaking.
Jason strives to continually improve his skills, designs and methods to bring innovation to the knife market. He gets motivation from his enthusiastic supporters and knife friends.
The Scout
The Scout was designed as a lightweight Everyday Carry knife, sporting a ‘Classic tactical’ appearance with clean lines and high-tech components. It is a smaller version of the Ranger with a 3.2” full flat grind blade, which reduces weight and offers an ultra-thin edge.
Included with each knife is a Birth Certificate and Heat Treatment certificate from Bohler authenticating a proper heat treatment process by the makers of M390 steel.
